That's an interesting concept and completely believable - train the brain! I think I may be doing that in a way b/c sometimes I know the floaters are there and a full wave like episode is coming, but then either it doesn't happen or I don't notice. ?
The first time it happened, I was 23 and it scared the beegeebees out of me! I was mopping the kitchen floor and one of my dogs was barking at me to put the water bowl back down. Odd it's so vivid. I grabbed a fruit cup aka sugar water and waited out the waves. It wasn't til after a few more episodes that I connected the sugar - the episodes fade quicker but still have to run the full course... little rainbow squigglies on either side of my line of vision, then the tunneling and closing in, then the fading...
