If you look up DMSO on the internet (I think you can go to Gaylord Chemical
Co. or something like that) you will find a graph that shows the freezing
temperatures of DMSO mixed with varying percentages of water.  The less
water the DMSO has, the higher the freezing temperature.  The more water
that is mixed in, the closer to 32 degrees Fahrenheit the freezing temp
will be.  So, you may have a fair amount of water mixed in with your DMSO
and may need to actually put it into your freezer for a bit to get it to
crystallize.  If you leave it in the freezer for too long all the water
will freeze just like it does when you make ice cubes, so you wouldn't want
to let it go that far.  The less agitation you have in the liquid, the
better the crystallization process and the separation of the DMSO from the
water will proceed.
