That's true, the DMSO could carry pesticides through the skin too. It was used externally on some lumps under the skin but I didn't notice any effects. I once tried some DMSO extracted homegrown organic herbs on my knee and developed a little patch of broken veins at one place and stopped. My knee did get better and now feels about as good as before I injured it since I've been taking larger doses of MSM and eating a vegetarian diet for 3 years. Lately I've been using raw milk as well.

Are you taking it internally or through the skin? The problem with DMSO is that it takes in the bad with the good. I found this out personally when I used it to help with an injury and mixed it with some herbs to decrease inflammation. I got very sick although I used these herbs in a different delivery method with great success. My herbalists response was that the body can handle some things in different quantities and that I had exceeded the quantity of the 'helpful' constituents when mixing it with DMSO. I became very careful of DMSO as a result because when working with organic/whole/natural ingredients we don't know what other chemicals are a constituent and what our tolerances might be. This is even more true when not using organic/whole/natural ingredients as we don't know what synthetics might also be carried in... imagine how this will compound with GMOs!

I've heard turmeric is made more absorbable by cooking it with fat or oil. I can get fresh Turmeric tubers which are related to ginger in a Asian market, and I made a tincture with DMSO using fresh tubers grated.
