In addition to what Steve said, it may be enhanced by using something like a “derma roller”. You can get them at derma-rolllers dot com, or lipoxidil dot com and several other places. They have lots of tiny needles that apparently can hardly be felt, but puncture the hard top layer of skin to allow better absorption of transdermals.
I’ve never tried one so can’t vouch for it’s effectiveness.
