Thank you sol, I appreciate that. That's exactly what I wanted to know
about face creams.
Now if someone on the list has tried CS in syrups, and decoctions, that
would be wonderful information. I'm wondering if I need to simmer my
herbs/berries/bark in the CS water, or reduce the amount of water I use
and add some CS to the reduced liquid, then add a little thickening
ingredient. Arrowroot can thicken quiet nicely, but I really prefer for
the syrup to be as thick as it can get on its own without adding
anything else. If I'm making syrups, the liquid has to be reduced by a
third or half through simmering, some even by three quarters, and I'd be
adding back liquid at the end. Unless I start with a third or whatever
less liquid. But I'm concerned about dilution of the medicinal
properties of the herbs in the solution, if I add the CS at the end
after I've already reduced the liquid. So I need someone who has used CS
to add to their tinctures and decoctions, and syrups and stuff to tell
me what method works the best.
And I'd still love to know if someone has successfully used it in their
soaps. And how they managed adding the CS.

I don't know about your other questions, but I always added CS to my
homemade face creams. Just substituted some CS for some of the hydrosols.
