Below is an email from Brooks about heavy menstrual bleeding. My sister in law is having this problem and I've tried to find wild Amaranth seed but can't find a supplier. Does anyone know where to get this supplement?
Appreciate any help, Dianne Subject: Re: SO>Heavy menstrual bleeding... Date: Tuesday, 2 September 2003 2:05 PM Several years ago we performed a research exercise designed to evaluate a majority of the known (or claimed) useful protocols for addressing pronounced menstrual flooding (especially the uncontrollable expressions). Over 20, different, protocols were examined, the overwhelming majority resulting in poor or no measurable control. However, ONE - almost regarded as an "old wives tale", by the allopathic community - proved to be singularly EFFECTIVE and without any detectable side effects. This protocol was based upon the utilization of wild Amaranth (the common roadside plant found growing in ditches throughout temperate North America. The procedure was quite simple and very straight-forward, involving the utilization of the ripened seeds. The basic protocol employed making a simple tea from about two full teaspoons of the seeds; pouring one cup of boiling water over them and allowing to steep for 8 to 12 minutes. Honey or other sweeteners may be used without complication. This protocol was repeated every 3 to 4 hours for a continuous period of twelve to fourteen hours, at which time the protocol was suspended for approximately 8 hours. If the flooding had not been satisfactorily controlled by that time, a second course was instituted, but discontinued as soon as acceptable control manifested. Interestingly, from a population of 22 volunteers (all in the "highly challenged" category) only one failed to gain complete con trol within 36 hours----or less. The single case not yielding to complete control nevertheless did enjoy a 50% to 60% diminution in bleeding. Additionally, this volunteer was found to be presenting complications not directly emanating from her menstrual cycle. My wife was one of the volunteers. She had suffered, for years, from dangerous flooding at menstrual time, Twice hemorrhaging so severely/ continuously as to have required "life-saving" protocols (including transfusions). Her response to the Amaranth seed protocol was, simply, miraculous----controlling her flooding within a time envelope of, never more than, 6 hours. We regarded these results as the single most compelling group of results ever accumulated for this type of anecdotal evaluation. Strangely, other than passing text references alluding to the use for hemorraghic control, by some early American Indians, existing literature makes little or no reference to studies emphasizing this splendid capability of Amaranth. At least, this has been our experience. Interestingly, just recently, I sent Vincent Gammill (one of our early list members, now involved as the CEO of a combination (conventional and alternative) protocols, NGO non-profit dedicated to cancer research and treatment - asked me for some amaranth seed for a very challenging, non-responsive, flooding case. The results were just as effective and impressive as were ours. Sincerely, Brooks.
