We were told to keep the crystals in an air tight jar to keep them from picking up water... I wager the plastic bag was either not closed tightly or was permeable enough to let the stuff absorb enough water *from the water vapor in the air* to result in the puddle that person is seeing. A material that does this is called "hydroscopic," meaning that it'll absorb water anywhere it can get it, including from the humidity in the air. Be well, Mike D.
