PS: Get a good juicing machine (I have an Olympic) and give her a couple of
pints of fresh fruit and vegetable juices a day, taken slowly, 8 ounces or so
at a time til she gets used to it. Try carrot, celery, lettuce, apple,
spinach, cabbage, beet (small amounts), etc., and many different combinations
thereof. It is really delicious and may help her a lot. The juice shuld not
sit around or be stored in bottles to be drunk later because the nutrients in
fresh live juices deteriorate quickly. It needs to be taken freshly so the
live nutrients go to work in the body instantly. Juice gets into the blood
stream right away because the pulp does not have to be digested first.

See if you can find books on juicing in the health food store. Books by Dr.
Norman W. Walker are especially good if you can find one. anymore. "Fresh
Vegetable and Fruit Juices, What's missing in your body?" This book talks
about the deficiencies of certain minerals, salts and vitamins that can cause
many of the symptoms of illnesses. Vegetable juices are categorically listed
and their elements carefully explained. It is a guide providing suggestions
for effective treatment of specific ailments from arthritis, asthma, bladder
trouble, boils, decay of bones and teeth, dysentery, fatigue, insomnia, kidney
trouble, thrombosis, tumors, varicose veins, and on and on.

Juicing machines vary greatly. I first had a Juiceman Juicer, but it did not
extract juices well, meaning the remaining pulp was always wet when it should
have been dry, all juice extracted. I've had an Olympic for 17 years though I
have not used it all that time. I had several problems with it, but there is
a 10 year warranty on it and the company always replaced what was necessary.

Good luck.

  Subject: CS>Burning Feet

Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with severe burning feet in an elderly
woman? My mother has this problem and some swelling of her feet. The doctor
did a diabetes test, she hasn't heard from them so she's assuming it's not
that. I suspect she has neuropathy. The doctor also said it is nerve damage in
her feet. He put her on some medication, called nuerotonin, or something like
that, or its generic, which makes her feet swell!! Any advice would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
