Actually, it makes no sense to me at all. The world is not a zero sum game. If the US succeeds, it doesn't mean that Canada or Mexico have to fail. I don't understand at all this notion that "Pakistan must fail if India succeeds" -- it seems like nothing more than a rhetorical flourish with no content or actual meaning. Pakistan is certainly a badly mismanaged basket case on the brink of internal collapse, but its success or failure, especially economically (and the economy is the key to stability in most places) hinges largely on its internal policies, and not on anything whatsoever that India does or does not do.
