As I was just telling Amit, it is brilliant and startling and exceptionally fascinating - even sexed up, if that's the phrase people prefer - in its unfolding. It is a three volume epic and it promises to be one of the most influential books on cinema studies in the contemporary times. If you have met Ashish already, you know his immense capacity for bringing together disparate objects from different contexts and disciplines to form extremely lucid and philosophically complex arguments, and this book captures him at his peak :) I should stop scattering accolades and let the book speak for itself. But a part of my own involvement with the book is the absolutely gushing rush I received on reading the pre-pub copy!!! Your own work sounds very interesting. I never 'did' cinema studies but I have always been acutely interested in cinema and visual mechanics and would definitely love to have a look at what you are writing right now. cheers Nishant > > > > On Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 10:44 AM, Amit Varma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > > > We are definitely > > > going ahead with putting up the PDF online because it can serve as a > > > resource for people who might also want to cite it, reference it, read > it > > > etc. > > > > > > > Nishant, please do share the link when it's online, would love to read > it. > > > > > > > > -- > > Amit Varma > > http://www.indiauncut.com > > > > > > -- > Radhika, Y.R. > Project Manager, > Centering Women project, Sri Lanka > International Center for Sustainable Cities > 415 - 1788 W. 5th Avenue > Vancouver BC Canada > -- Nishant Shah Doctoral Candidate, CSCS, Bangalore.
