Every morning, I wake up at about 6am and read the New York Times in genuine dead tree format. (Someone who I've never seen deposits it directly on the sill of my front door.) By "read" I mean "I skim 90% of the articles and actually read perhaps 10%, except the sports section, style section, etc., which I toss unread." I listen to Newshour on the BBC and a bit of local radio. So much for news. In addition, I read a modest number of blogs, and I often force myself to stop reading them when it turns out they aren't adding much value to my life. (I also use Google Reader for that.) If I had 125 blogs in my feed, I think I'd get nothing else done but blog reading. It is very easy to overload on information, to the point where you aren't getting any work done. I think it is better to be deliberately ignorant about things that aren't germane to getting to your goals... Perry
