Now this is one bit of urban legend which I have kept hearing for the
past decade (or more) and never been able to confirm (much like the
couple-swapping by dropping of car keys which is supposed to go on at
weekends at the Bangalore Club.) I first heard this as "dropping the
numbers written on tissues, from car windows" then it progressed to
swimming pools and restaurants and now, of course, it's malls. Alas, I
have picked up so many pieces of paper but never have they had phone
number written on them....I once picked up a very, very life-like
twenty-dollar bill on the New York subway which had a fairly witty
promotional message by a professional (oldest one) lady. But no
amateur communications in the Arab world....

Does anyone have first-hand information about this?
