I sometimes wonder whether we are secular by intent or by default. The thread alludes to our own problems with Southies Vs Northies etc. But I think the problem is even more granular: What about Yadavs Vs Brahmins Vs Dalits (UP, Bihar, Haryana)... or Iyengars Vs Iyers. More recently.. AP players Vs Maharashtra players Vs Karnataka players being selected for the Indian cricket team. Even biotech Vs IT (I swear this is true.. happened to me).

Do we actually have the time to consider the secular nature of India and our part in it or is it seemingly so because a lot of us can't be bothered with anything out side of our cubicles / offices / gaming consoles.... where everything outside our immediate problems is 'tolerated'. Is secularism a result of parsimony of thought? Or does this represent a minority view?

Adit.
