in the past 3 years denmark has shifted radically to the right, with
extremist xenophobic parties kept out of govt only by their main
policies being adopted within the govt. that's the context of the
cartoon row...
danes are pretty defensive here when people justifiably accuse them
of losing their liberal, tolerant attitudes.
