Who wants to make a new Mumbai bus navigator? The existing ones are
sorta crumbling.

After meetings with the transport planning and communications
departments at the BES&T, we have acquired the complete database of
routes, stops, localities, timings and other information on bus
transport. See http://freemap.in/data/best_transport/ to download
the tables, which contain entries for all 3000 or so stops in
Greater Mumbai in dbf format, which should open in any spreadsheet
or database application.
This information is updated every three months by Dattakumar
Ghoghare, transport planner at the Wadala Depot, who mans the
control room and has provided us with the data. See http://

http://www.cse.iitb.ac.in/navigator/index.html for the Mumbai
Navigator developed using the same database at IIT.
Rupali once had an idea to make an alternative bus map for Mumbai,

For GIS hackers: if we can get geographic coordinates for bus
stops, this would be an excellent way both to visualise these
routes, stops, and networks on http://mumbai.freemap.in as well as
use the stops as ground control points to correct and clean up the
base map layers which I have processed in ArcGIS. Go to http://
freemap.in/data/mumbai_warped.zip to download the archive
containing these layers in shp format with attributes attached as
dbf files.
