Hi,

As i mailed previously to the list, i am working on a new programming
language. When generalised it is a new way to look at programs(i am not
sure if i can call it a paradigm yet).

I have a very basic model of the language in the workings(should be
completed in a few days) and there is a conference on the horizon. I
want to do the following things with this work, publish the paper in a
conference, get a patent, GPL the implementation. If things are right,
a start up too.

I am confused about the order in which i should be doing these things.
I also do not know, if a patent and GPL can co-exist.I am not very
much inclined in making money on my patent, but i only want to have
one.Any pointers on this issue will be extremely helpful as i am stuck
at the moment. If someone specialised on this issue, i can contact
them off list.

Some basic questions that i need immediate answers to are:

- Does sending a paper for review at a conference prevent me from
applying for a patent?
- Also, how much can i tell about my work on a public forum like a mailing list?
