I made my own standing desk from an old coffee table last weekend. So far so good, my legs and back hate me but I'm feeling the benefits.
I work from multiple locations, but what inspired me to build this one is the standing desks at Spacecubed which I use when I'm there. My version is not remotely portable, and I very much doubt I'd be in the market for a portable version, but I'm happy to share my experience if it helps.
