@Vikashan once again, my thoughts are articulated clearly in your
post.

@Geoff Do we all have to be qualified to talk about a "problem" seen
within a situation? I think a discussion is essential to get all the
pros/cons out in the open in regards to considering starting something
like this idea- various points of views and questions should be
exposed as well as pointing out the missing factor that could be well
equal the deciding equation. As Shane mentioned; When it comes to
designing a curriculum for such a situation as this- you would need a
lot of expertise behind you- seasonal entrepreneurs, start ups,
educational background to name a few.

@Brendan and @Shane, that makes sense- where students are exposed to
practical exercises in order to understand the entrepreneurship
route. I also understand the impact of theory and practical work
(once again, teaching background coming through) I am self aware that
there needs to be some sort of substantial intrinsic questioning
before externally applying yourself to a task. I also agree that
things need momentum and a few good volunteers, entrepreneurs, schools
to put their hand up and say "ok, we're in".

Considering target age (14-18) maybe they don't need to be put through
the ringer too much.. maybe they just need that jolt of shared
experience, motivation, inspiration and that confirmation that their
dream can be a reality if they work hard for it and apply the skills
that have been taught?

I am taking all your comments and opinions on board and from what I
gather from the conversation, the idea to introduce (or re introduce/
ignite) the concept of entrepreneurship back into the secondary
educational sector has the majority of people putting their "thumbs
up". So saying this; If people are aligned please ping me directly
if you would like to get involved in the process. Otherwise, I'll
start a new post every now and then as a "call for action".

Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Aileen Bautista
