Hi All! My name is David Fay (long-time-lurker-first-time-introducer) and I’ve just launched a website Wefutr.com. My intention with this website is to grow into the future media space by creating an accountable and trackable predictions aggregator.
I’m not much of a developer (anything that’s messy / broken on Wefutr is probably my fault) but I’m really looking forward to engaging with this group of people and sharing ideas and experience; I’m excited at the sheer amount of both that must be in one room at one time during a SB drinks / coffee, and so I’ve decided to be shy no longer and poke my head out to meet everyone. A little info on my background: I did a degree in Media and Communications at the University of Sydney and spent a lot of time getting into video production and associated technologies. Quite naturally I suppose, this led to becoming quite close to the tech-support staff for the degree, and when I graduated they offered me a job on the team (supporting labs, a/v equipment, software etc). With not much to do, I had a LOT of spare time at work and basically used it to learn how to use the Internet. Over the year and a half I spent there I read and watched as much as I possibly could and completely fell in love with the idea of startups and working in small, lean, exciting businesses (as opposed to bloated, political behemoths like a University). My work contract expired in June, and since then I’ve been working furiously to get Wefutr up and out the gates. I’d previously hired a designer and a developer to help me get a minimum viable product going, but there’s still so much I’d like to do with it, and I’m hoping to meet some people who might be interested in working with me to get Wefutr to the next level. So that's it for me! I look forward to meeting you all soon, Cheers, David PS: Sertan I think we’ve met a couple of times at USYD!
