The only thing you need to know is that there is a big difference between a book keeper and an accountant.
Book keepers are simply doing data entry. You don't need an accounting background, although it does help once you move into accrual accounting. An accountant however, can give you financial advice and ways of structuring your finances. So yes, you are right on - feel free to outsource the book keeping. But don't over-pay the skill base of a book keeper and don't under-recognise their limitations.
