Tom, you definitely deserve a standing ovation and a guard of honor on your departure for all your dedicated and first-class quality work on Shorewall.

As far as I can see throughout the time I spent on this list, you've been helpful, kind and supportive of any question/issue thrown here from the simplest cases to solve to the weirdest of setups to debug.

I said it few times but I'll repeat myself one last time. I can not say that with enough intensity : Through my career in computing technology, I dealt with lots of people in support systems, especially proprietary "premium paid support". Let me tell you again : no one there came close to your level of expertise and quality of support in any kind or shape!

Basically, you raised the level of support one can get to platinum level. Ask for support? Tom replies within hours, one day at most! You have a problem with your complicated setup? Tom asks a Shorewall dump and finds the issue for you! You need a new feature? Tom implements it right away! This is unprecedented AFAIC.

Congratulations and thank you sir!

Enjoy your retirement, enjoy life and have some quality time for yourself now, you deserved it a million times!

SARCASM: Given the millennial software quality we have now, if Shorewall were to be developed today by a "devops" guy, it would require NodeJS and NPM crap, would have a YAML configuration, an internal HTTP server with realtime updates no one cares about but skinable of course. Above all, this "modern" software would feature 0.0001% of Shorewall current possibilities! Old school get-to-the-point-and-the-job-done-in-the-most-efficient-way pragmatic engineers like you will be sorely missed!

Have a nice life Tom and thank you again!
