A few years ago, yes, this used to be a problem - and a difficult one to diagnose too. Nowadays, xpra uninstalls the previous version before installing again: https://www.xpra.org/trac/changeset/15053 You can still have 32-bit and 64-bit versions installed in parallel: https://www.xpra.org/trac/changeset/21951
