The description of how to use ServiceMix with Eclipse on the ServiceMix website http://docs.codehaus.org/display/SM/Using+Eclipse is nearly excellent and really works (except for some minor problems with the classpath).
I suggest one further step. Don't download the ServiceMix source code, but use a SVN client like Tortoise (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/) to get the actual head of the source code base. Afterwards continue as described. This way you can keep your source up to date with the progress of the ServiceMix team.
