+1. Folks can always use retrotranslator if need be for 1.4 JVMs.

The container itself works on JDK 1.4 with some minor modifications (see http://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/SM-848) but i think it would be easier to officially switch to JDK 5 for everything ....
