Hello,

I recently changed my configuration to use Redhat 7.1 from 1 IDE drive to
use 2 drives by using RAID 1 mirroring. Everything is working fine, RAID1 is
constantly mirroring hda on hdd:

[root@mail /root]# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities : [linear] [raid0] [raid1] [raid5] [multipath]
read_ahead 1024 sectors
md1 : active raid1 hdd1[1] hda1[0]
      104320 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md0 : active raid1 hdd2[1]
      2104448 blocks [2/1] [_U]

md2 : active raid1 hdd5[1] hda5[0]
      1574272 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md3 : active raid1 hdd6[1] hda6[0]
      1052160 blocks [2/2] [UU]

md4 : active raid1 hdd7[1] hda7[0]
      787072 blocks [2/2] [UU]

unused devices: <none>
[root@mail /root]#

To test when drive hda failes I rebooted the machine and plugged the IDE
cable of hda out. The machine wasn't booting anymore.
After searching on google I saw there was an issue with lilo see the URL
below for details:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22software+raid+1%22+not+booting&start=20
&hl=nl&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=kb74nt4ksln6lt53611m6kcgoi1kqht15d%404ax.c
om&rnum=25

My question to the redhat developers, ofcourse when they they can confirm
this bug. Why is a newer version of Lilo included in Redhat 8.0 but not the
version that solved this bug. I saw Redhat 8.0 for now uses version:
lilo-21.4.4-20

All comment is welcome

Jeroen
