I highly recommend Exim as a replacement for Sendmail. RH has an older
3.x version RPM lying about. The newer 4.x series is even better, but
RH doesn't have an RPM for it just yet. I hear Postfix is another
perfectly good alternative, although I haven't personally used it.

Sendmail is notorious for being difficult to configure. You could make
a career of it. Exim was so easy to set up, I did it in a day. It is
amazingly flexible, too. Check out www.exim.org.
