I had to power-cycle an NFS server and one of its clients recently. The client has developed a number of processes in uninterruptible waits. They are waiting to lock an NFS file which is currently considered to be locked by another process (which doesn't exist on the server nor on any of the client machines). How can I get rid of this stale lock? Do I have to shut down the server and client and then restart them? Or is there a less disruptive solution? Thanks, John Dalbec
