WHAT I DID:
I wrote a simple test program to check whether i could open RAW
Socket, ofcourse in SU mode,
and send and receive PIM [Protocol 103] packets.
RESULT & PROBLEM:
Fine, the program is working fine with RHL 6.2. But,
when i ran the same program in RHL 7.1, program is sending the
packets but blocking on recvfrom, ie. not
receiving packets.
OBSERVATIONS:
I used TCPDUMP to monitor whether actually packet has been sent,
note that it is working
in RHL 6.2. Fine, TCPDUMP shows that packet has been sent and
received on both ends, IT even recognized that the
packet is PIMv2 Packet. But, the IP is not passing on the packet to
myprogram.
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM. Can you provide me the SOLUTION.
SOLUTIONS WE TRIED:
1) We disable the firewall as "NoFirewall" outof 3 options High,
Medium, NoFirewall.
Still could not get the packet from IP.
2) We added a rule in input/output firewalling
"Accept All Protocol Packets on All available interface from
ALL Terminals"
It says that " Firewall state does not match configuration".
