I have 2 pc's both with different sound cards in (one with an sb live
and this works great with the sidewinder joystick).
But my other one which has a soundblaster 16 card is unable to use the
sidewinder joystick (the gameport is working on the card)
Iam using RH 7.1, kernel 2.4.6-2.4
the modules loaded (that are relevant to the card) are as follows:
es1371 28928 0 (autoclean)
ac97_codec 8896 0 (autoclean) [es1371]
gameport 1920 0 (autoclean) [es1371]
soundcore 4144 4 (autoclean) [es1371]
input 3456 0 [hid]
but if i load teh joystick modules:
/sbin/insmod joydev
/sbin/insmod sidewinder
and then i test it with: jstest /dev/js0
i get the error 'no such device'
yet there are several /dev/js* in the dev directory
I have tried loading several other soundcard and joystick modules and
still the same.
I did notice on my other pc running the soundblaster live i had to load
up:
gameport
emu10k1-gp
sidewinder
joydev
and that got it working great, but iam still unable to get it working on
my sb 16 (even after looking thru the kernel doc's and howto's)
Can anyone give me some pointers please??
