Greetings:
My system is a Dell Latitude CPt laptop with 500MHz and 512Mb RAM, on which I've
installed RH 7.1. Everything seems to work except the PCMCIA slots. According
to Windows 2000 it has:
Texas Instruments PCI-1225 CardBus Controller
Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master Controller
I would like to use any combination of, or all of the following (at appropriate
times):
3Com 10/100 LAN + 56K CardBus Modem "Model 3C3FEM656 C" (PREFERRED
CHOICE works well in W2K)
3Com 56K Global GSM & Cellular Modem PC Card "Model 3CXM756"
3Com 10/100 LAN CardBus "Model 3CFE575CT"
Psion Gold Card 56K+Fax Multi-Function PC Card [GSM & ISDN Upgradeable]
The following shows what I believe to be pertinent lines from
"/var/log/messages"
localhost kernel: got res[1fff0000:1fff0fff] for resource 0 of Texas
Instruments PCI1225
localhost pcmcia: Starting PCMCIA services:

It does not seem to matter whether the card is plugged-in at power-up, or
plugged-in after login. There is never any beeping to acknowledge the card and
the card doesn't appear to work. All boot messages "OK". Cardctl config
reports Socket 0 & Socket 1 "not configured", cardctl status reports no card in
either socket,
If anyone can assist, I would be delighted to hear from them.
