Procmail will do this for you.
Having only used it recently and not
done anything complex with procmail,
I wouldn't begin to tell you how, but
from the comments and examples I've
found all over the net - it is
obviously possible
(I think one example did actually do
this in one of the FAQ's)
Basically it involved feeding the
mail file into procmail with the
appropriate options and rules file.
Procmail is probably already installed
if you have a standard 7.1
Or to see if it is there:
"rpm -qva | grep -i procmail" :-)
Warning: if you start editing a
~/.procmailrc it will take effect as
soon as you save it (you don't have to
do anything to enable it - it already
is by default - so be very carful
making your rules and saving the file)
One last comment ... procmail does
take a bit of effort to learn.
The syntax is not immediately obvious
but there are plenty of FAQ's and
examples around to solve that problem.
