IDE RAID-can't install 7.1

I have an ABIT KT7A-RAID mobo and recently got a second hard drive (both are Quantum Fireball AS 40GB ATA/100).  The motherboard has a Highpoint 370 controller.  I set the array as a striping (raid 0) channel #0. Now I can't even install RH 7.1 (I boot from the CD) because DiskDruid gives error messages during the install process. Is there any workaround for this? TIA.
