I've actually done it both ways. LILO in the MBR boots W2K and Linux or
NTBOOTLDR in the MBR which boots either LILO or W2K. Both seemed to work
fine. The Boot-HOWTO recommends the latter, but I've had (and seen other
people have) success with the first as well. My current laptop is the
latter, but I'm considering switching my home machine to LILO on the MBR
as I'm tired of running dd if=/dev/sda of=bootsect.lnx cs=1 bs=512 and
copying it to windows every time I make a kernel change.
