Hi!
Im running popensolaris b101 and ive made a zfs pool called tank and an fs
inside of it tank/public, ive shared it with smb.
zfs set sharesmb=on tank/public
im using solaris smb and not samba.
The problem is this. When i connect and create a file its readable to everyone
but it should be 7
How do i share a zfs conatiner with iscsi?
ive installed SUNWiscsi:
r...@fs01:~# svcs -a |grep iscsi
disabled 12:48:59 svc:/network/iscsi_initiator:default
Its disabled and i can enable it but shouldnt it be target and not initiator?
and shared the zfs slice.
r...@fs01:~# zfs get shareiscs
Hello,
I am new to Solaris.
Several PDFs out there suggest any of the following:
a) Solaris comes with 128bit encryption (full filesystem)
b) Solaris supports full root encryption.
Any truth to any of this?
The company I work for tis mandating full root encryption.
Thanks.

Any thoughts on how well they would work as a
using disks from Tray 1 as L2ARC for Tray 2 and put
all of these disks in one (1) zfs storage pool.
This pool would be used mainly as astronomical images repository, shared
via NFS over a Sun Fire X2200.
Is it worth to do?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
Roger

Have there been any new developments regarding the availability of
vfs_zfsacl.c? Jeb, were you able to get a copy of Jiri's work-in-progress? I
need this ASAP (as I'm sure most everyone watching this thread does)...
Thank you for your help.

Th
I managed to create a link in a ZFS directory that I can't remove. Session as
follows:
# ls
bayes.lock.router.3981 bayes_journal user_prefs
# ls -li bayes.lock.router.3981
bayes.lock.router.3981: No such file or directory
# ls
bayes.lock.router.3981 bayes_journal user_prefs
I guess I should have included this output too:
# ls -al
total 124
drwx-- 2 rmf other 5 Aug 9 05:26 .
drwx--x--x 148 rmf other283 Aug 9 05:40 ..
-rw--- 1 rmf other 26616 Apr 16 00:17 bayes_journal
-rw--- 1 rmf other 1938 Apr 15 04
This is on a sol10u3 box. I could boot snv temporarily on this box if it
would accomplish something.

Panic? That's rather draconian
IBM has contributed code for NFSv4 ACLs under AIX's JFS; hopefully Sun will not
tarry in following their lead for ZFS.
