Hi,
bash-3.2# isainfo
amd64 i386
The above output shows amd64 is available. But how can I now overcome the
compilation failure issue?

Adam,
Thanx for your answer. I often read your blog. :o)
Anyway, will it be possible to change from raidz1 to raidz2? I am switching to
raidz2 because if a drive fails, there is a high chance that another drive
fails while rebuilding the zpool (Ive heard).
I want to know my options to migrate t
Hi,
I'd like to have it fixed as well, I'm having the same problem with 20 zvols
which are windows xp images exported through iscsi, they are auto-snapshotted
every hour/day/month, right now I've got nearly 1500 snapshots and booting this

Robin,
LSI 3041er and 3081er are pci-e 4 and 8 ports sata cards; they are not hot-swap
capable, as far as I know, but do work very well (I'm using several of them) in
jbod and they're not too expensive.

Hi David,
BP rewrite is an important component technology, but there's a
bunch beyond that. It's not a high priority right now for us at Sun.
What's the bug / RFE number for it? (So those of us with contracts
can add a request for it.)
I don't have the number handy, but while it might be

Your issue may be due to a problem I ran into with 'cw' not generating
the proper arguments for the C compiler. I've only used the Sun
Studio C compiler to build the kernel.
My notes on how I build the kernel are on my blog, in two parts:

Thanks Adam,
So, if i understand well, the MLC SSD more appropriate for read cache is more
theory than pratice right now. Right? I mean, SUN is just using SLC SSD's?
That would explain the only support for SLC on SUN hardware (x42xx) series.
Thanks again.

I just added -xarch=amd64 in Makefile.master and then could compile the driver
without any issues.

pak.

Hi,
I added a vdev(file) to the zpool and then, and using hexedit modified the guid
of the vdev in all four labels. I also, caluculated the new ub_guid_sum and
updated all uberblock guid_sum values. Now, when I try to import this modified
file into the zpool, it says the device is offline...and
Ok had a pool which got full - so performance tanked.
Ran off and got some more disks to create a new pool to put all the extra data.
Got the original pool down to 60% util, but the performance is still bad.
Any ideas on how to get the performance back?
Bad news is that the pool in question is
