Hi,
I'm planning to use the replication scripts on that page :
http://www.infrageeks.com/groups/infrageeks/wiki/8fb35/zfs_autoreplicate_script.html
It uses the timeslider (other way possible) to take snapshots, uses zfs
send/receive to replicate and another script for cleaning up the old snapsho
Norm,
Thank you. I just wanted to double-check to make sure I didn't mess up things.
There were steps that I was head-scratching after reading the man page. I'll
spend a bit more time re-reading it using the steps outlined so I understand
these fully.

Hello,
I setup a NAS based on EON 0.58.9-b104 (Osol 2008/11) incl. a zfs (raid-z
zpool). This is shared in my LAN via smb = working. System is running from a
flash USB stick.
I now installed Osol 2009/11 on a flash disk in the same machine, so I be able
to boot either EON or Osol 2009/11.

Hi David,
Thanks, there's no need to ask around. I should be able to work it out.
Thanks for your help.

Not off-hand. It's a separate dev group that tends to do
Hi David,
Thanks, that's good news, as we're trying to repurpose an Xserve RAID
with some new servers.

That's exactly what I want to do. Our current setup is two mirrored
RAID-5 arrays, so we'd probably set up a couple of RAI

Yes. In one of our development labs we have the "Xraid" (now
discontinued) exporting things as a JBOD and using ZFS to t

Hi all,
Just a quick question. Is it possible to utilise an Apple Xserve RAID
as an array for use with ZFS with RAID-Z in Solaris?

Hi,
New user question. In ZFS (solaris 10) are we able to "evacuate" a disk
if I later decide to remove it from a ZFS pool. I know the answer use
to be no but I'm not sure if that has changed or will change.

Hey folks,
I can see there's been a fair bit of discussion on this topic in the past, I
wondered if anybody has any feedback on the best way to do this?
We're looking to use ZFS and Samba to serve files to our windows clients, which
means we'll be using NFSv4 permissions. While the data will b
