more cost effective to just build a new
system with newer and better technology. It should take me a long while to
fill up 9TB, but there was a time when I thought a single gigabyte was a
ridiculous amount of storage too.

vdev of 8 drives, losing one of them for parity, or you could make two raidz
vdevs of 4 drives each and lose two drives for parity (one for each vdev). You
