That card works on OI-148 x86 if its SATA mode (tested it myself, RAID does
not), which should also work on the SPARC version of the OS (common driver).
Would mean upgrading to OpenIndiana and using the in development SPARC SKU
but if you're adventurous and nothing else works...

Whilst the driver supports TRIM, ZFS doesn't yet. So in practice it's not
supported.

some test, so far the assumption (even inside sun's sd
driver) is that SSD are really 4KiB even when the claim 512B, perhaps we
should have an 8KiB option...

So honestly do we want to innovate ZFS (I do) or do we just want to follow

he SSD last for
*years*. And given how cheap some SSD are, it is probably still cheaper to
effectively burn the ZIL out and just replace it once a year. Maybe not a
classic level of RAID but the very essence of the idea, lots of cheap can be
better than expensive if you know what you are doi
form...

The most complex ALU parts of zfs are the Galois field math in the RAID
codes and the checksum operations. All of which are integer ops (tho it
might be interesting to see if the Galois field could be accelerated using
the float ALU).
