I thought I might write down my experience of this bug.
Yesterday (2011-03-23) I installed the generic ghc 7.02 (64 bit) for linux,

I just installed Yi on the latest Haskell platform. I had to disable pango,
but otherwise it works perfectly.

If we can get HEAD to a usable state, I think I can publish the git version
which should fix this.
