Can it be the reason that
cabal install yi -f -pango
_disables_ pango flag instead of _enabling_ it?
I suppose the
cabal install yi -f pang

Here is instruction How to Compile and Run Yi (0.6.2.4) with Gtk (0.12) on
Windows.
It is on russian, but steps will be understandable
