en saved it. Finally, I switched
back to the master document and clicked View > Redraw. Note that I had never
saved the new xi:include in the master document.

Hm. I tried a little test here and I also cannot reproduce the problem. Maybe
there was another factor I didn't notice.
Sorry for the false alarm.
Thanks for the excellent product BTW.

I think I have this figured out.

It seems that I'll have to add DOCTYPE declarations to all the modular files.
We are already using xi:include so it's not a big adjustment.

I've been using XMLmind for DocBook editing for many years, but never
on MacOS until now. I frequently use the "extend selection to
preceding/following sibling" commands and I have always used the
alt+up/down arrow combination on Linux and Windows.
The MacOS menu doesn't show keyboard shortcuts fo
t open the actual file in it. I confirmed that I see
the same behavior on my MacOS laptop.
Is there a way to configure XMLmind or MacOS to make the actual file open
in XMLmind?
Thanks for your help!

Is there another way to do this in XMLMind without using xpointer()? I
am using the standard edition v2.9.
Thanks for your help.
