Using the technique you explained to me, I have am now comfortable preparing
elements that contain more than one . Just one case, however, is
now giving strange results: which is all the stranger when I have used exactly
the same technique and settings for other pairs of graphics and not run in
Aha! that's really interesting. I'll check the resolution information for the
two files. The .png I use are almost always derived by export from Adobe
Illustrator, so I'll see what the options are for fine-tuning.

Excellent - I have quickly exported the two .ai files to .png, making sure the
setting for output dpi was the same for both: problem solved :-}
