Is there a way to copy from XXE into the clipboard only the raw content,
i.e. without the full XML markup ?

Yes. Please use "Edit|Copy as Text" for that. On recent versions of XXE,
the corresponding keyboard shortcut has been changed to Ctrl+Shif
