Thank you very much for your reply, -this explains very well what the
problem is, however it does not explain how xml-mind has allowed this text
without a para. I only used XML-mind to edit the document, and I am the
only author. Can it have happened during some copy/paste operation

I have corrected the full document now, and there were many places where
text had been inserted without being enclosed by a paragraph. Now, only
after fixing all occurrences, "Copy as Reference" works again. I will keep
a look in the future, to get a clue how I got this plain text in
Just wondering – every now and then I realise I've made a mistake in a
graphic, or the developers change their mind about an icon. If I update the
graphic, is there a trick for updating the display in XXE?
