[XFree86] Could any body tell me how to adjust the default pointer acceleration value?

Hi, everyone I have a problem on Redhat Enterprise edition. I cann't make my mouse works properly except that change its "acceleration" value by " xset m 1". But I cann't save this value. If issue a command like"xset m default", it changes back to 2 by default. So I want to change its default to 1.
