The package include Application menu folders that provide icons for application
categories. Many of those icons are missing from icon themes that are installed
as garcon/gtk dependencies. In that case,

I see what you mean, but I am wary of just adding a dependency to fix this
issue, which is anyway indirect.

Also, I forgot to mention, I don't have gnome-icon-theme installed and I'm not
experiencing the issue.
If I could reproduce the problem investigating ti would be simpler.
