[XeTeX] xetex, itrans and telugu

I downloaded TeXShop from the macupdate website and I assumed it contains xetex/xelatex; however, when I tried to typeset a file using xelatex from it, it complained that the command "xelatex" is not available. What is the procedure to get xetex/xelatex software into TeXShop?

While typesetting using xetex in TeXshop, what is the best place to keep the .map and .tec files for provate fonts? Keeping them in the same directory as the source .tex file seems to work; but there must be a standard place where they can be shared to process source files from different places. T
