I find that when I compile an article with the following code, xelatex
inserts a space after the opening quote, which is unnecessary. A minimal
sample is given below. I am using Malayalam text with Rachana font. You can
see the space inserted after the opening quote at two places in
Dear Sasi,
my installed version of Rachana does not contain quotes at all, I see
just empty rectangles, so that I cannot say whether it look right or
wrong. What I can say is that quoes, colons, question marks etc. are
not Indic characters but taken from the Latin script. When used in
Indic script
