Take a look at: http://wix.sourceforge.net/manual-wix3/util_xsd_eventsource.htm An event source in windows is really just some registry entries. The EventSource extension is some compiler synatical sugar that simlifies authoring this. Your Installer class isn't needed and shouldn't be used
