toolset.
Subject: Re: [WiX-users] Confusionm around Privileged property
Privileged isn't completely useless. It's correctly resolved in the execute
sequence. There's a UAC recommendation somewhere to use a type 19 custom
action in the execute sequence conditioned on Privileged to abort th
XML toolset.
Subject: Re: [WiX-users] Confusionm around Privileged property
Isn't WI v4 where the UAC was introduced and the Privileged property became
useless? If so, then you should be able to use both properties to get what
you want downlevel and uplevel.

It would be nice if the documentation stated that outright. I
understand the normal UAC case made Privileged hard to set as
documented, but as written this behavior smells more like a Windows
Installer bug.

Windows Installer always sets Privileged because people used it wrong more
often than right.

Windows 7, UAC is off, user is not an administrator, Windows Installer
sets Privileged and AdminUser properties no 1:
MSI (c) (08:8C) [15:45:57:221]: MSI_LUA: Setting AdminUser property to 1
because this is the client or the user has already permitted elevation
MSI (c) (08:8C) [15:45:57:221]: PROP
